Meet the friendly faces behind Orea Capital

Jacques Mahaux

Jacques Mahaux joined Banque Indosuez Belgium in 1986, followed by Banque Indosuez Luxembourg in 1989. There, he held the position of director and was accredited by the CSSF within the Crédit Agricole Group in Luxembourg, while also serving as a director of several Luxembourgish and foreign subsidiaries of the Crédit Agricole Group, notably with the group's expansion in Belgium.

He chaired the board of directors of Crédit Agricole Luxembourg Conseil and Crédit Agricole Luxembourg Courtage, and served as a director of various collective investment schemes as well as the management company of Crédit Agricole Indosuez Wealth.

Jacques Mahaux was a member of the Management Committee and the Executive Committee of Crédit Agricole Indosuez Wealth (Holding), where he held the position of Head of the Wealth Engineering Business Line since 2012.

He was also a member of committees of the ABBL (taxation, pension funds) and the CSSF.

Jacques holds a Master in Law and a Master in Economics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Alain Descamps

Alain began his career at BBL Belgium in 1994, before moving to ING Luxembourg as a Private Banker, Head of UHNWI (Ultra High Net Worth Individuals), and Head of all Relationship Managers including UHNWI. In 2014, he joined a single family office where he was responsible for cash flow management and the investment policy of the company, as well as coordinating between various banking institutions, law firms, and fiduciaries with whom the office worked on a daily basis.

Alain holds a Master's degree in Business Engineering and a Master's degree in Taxation from Solvay Business School (ULB), and he is a Director accredited by GUBERNA in Belgium.

Anthony De Wit

Anthony brings over 30 years of expertise in financial and tax domains, currently serving as Managing Partner at a prominent Belgian financial and tax consulting firm. Previously, he held a directorship at KPMG, overseeing the 'Financial Services' and 'Real Estate' business lines. Throughout his career, Anthony has provided strategic counsel and conducted audits for numerous financial institutions.

Additionally, Anthony is a respected lecturer at the Antwerp Management School of the University of Antwerp,where he imparts knowledge on various topics including the taxation of financial instruments and real estate.

He holds a Master's degree in Business Engineering with a focus on finance (1990-1994), as well as a Master's degree in Tax Law (1995) from the University of Leuven.

Laure Hilbert

Laure has cultivated a distinguished career spanning 25 years, marked by her esteemed roles as a Private Banking Director at institutions such as UBS, Lombard Odier, and Credit Agricole Indosuez. Her wealth of expertise was further honed during a brief tenure at Korys, the esteemed family office of the Colruyt family in Belgium. 

Moreover, Laure maintains active engagement in various associations, underscoring her unwavering dedication to professional and community involvement. Notably, she holds a valued membership in Les Femmes d'Europe in Brussels.

Laure is a distinguished alumna of the Université Catholique de Louvain and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, where she earned her degree.

Olivier Van Regemortel

Olivier has been at the helm of our company, where he oversees the strategy and growth of Orea Capital into a leading player in wealth management in Luxembourg. His professional journey began in 2001 at Rabobank Luxembourg, followed by a career move in 2004 to Credit Agricole Indosuez Luxembourg, where he served as Senior Private Banker. Later, he was one of the founding members of the UHNW (Ultra High Net Worth) department at Credit Agricole Indosuez Wealth Management Luxembourg.

In addition to his role at Orea Capital, Olivier also serves as a board member for several philanthropic associations, such as the Academie de la Philharmonie (Luxembourg), the Pulse Foundation (Belgium), and Aureus Ars & Scientia (Luxembourg).

Olivier holds a degree in Accountancy with a specialization in Tax and has participated in various executive management programs at Insead, Nyenrode.  He is also an Insead alumni. 

Christophe Schockert

Since 2016, Christophe has served as the Chief Financial Officer, overseeing all back-office operations and ensuring the meticulous management of the company's accounts. His journey with the team commenced in 1999, initially as an administrative assistant, and subsequently, from 2013 onward, as the Head of Operations and Accounting. His multifaceted expertise and steadfast dedication contribute significantly to the organization's financial integrity and operational efficiency.

Christophe is a distinguished graduate, holding degrees in both Marketing and Management, as well as Accounting. 

Pierre Lassonde

Pierre Lassonde, Founder Franco Nevada (FNV), Oral Mining ( ola) and Newgold serves as Honorary Chairman of Franco-Nevada Corporation (FNV) and has been its Director since November 12, 2007. He served as President of Newmont Mining Corporation from 2002 to 2006 and served as its Director and Vice-Chair until November 30, 2007. He is past Chair and a past Director of the World Gold Council, Chair of the Quebec National Art Museum. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 2002, was inducted into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame in 2013 and was appointed Chair of the Canadian Council for the Arts in July 2015. He was made a member of the Order of Canada in 2002. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute in 1984, a P. Eng (Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario) in 1976, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah in 1973, a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique in 1971 and a B.A. from Seminaire de St. Hyacinthe/Université de Montréal in 1967. Mr. Lassonde has received Honorary Ph.D’s from the University of Toronto, Western University, Ryerson University, University of Utah, Universite de Montreal and Concordia University.  Mr. Lassonde is also a highly active and engaged philanthropist in Canada and the U.S., particularly in the fields of arts, education and community development.
