Stefaan Haspeslagh joins Orea Capital's Board of Directors.
Stefaan Haspeslagh brings extensive financial, industrial and governance experience to Orea Capital's Board of Directors. He served for many years as CFO and later COO of Tessenderlo Group, while also serving as Chairman of the Board and CFO of Picanol Group until Picanol's full integration into Tessenderlo.
Today, he is Managing Director at Findar and Koramic. He holds a degree in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp.
His expertise in governance, acquisitions and long-term growth strengthens Orea Capital's Board of Directors at an important stage in the company's continued expansion.
1. What made you decide to join Orea Capital's Board of Directors, and where do you see the biggest opportunities ahead?
For younger generations, investing alongside saving is becoming the new normal. That creates significant opportunities for Orea Capital to grow through a clear strategy tailored to this changing landscape.
Having spent many years as CFO and board member at companies such as Tessenderlo and Picanol, I've learned what it takes to support growth in a financially sound and well-structured way. Building a strong financial framework, supporting acquisitions and maintaining discipline during periods of rapid expansion are experiences I'm looking forward to bringing to Orea Capital.
2. What sets Orea Capital apart from traditional private banks and wealth managers?
What stands out to me is the close relationship between Orea Capital's Board, its owners and its clients. That proximity creates trust and fosters long-term partnerships that are increasingly valuable today.
3. Orea Capital is entering a new growth phase. What do you believe is essential to guide that growth successfully?
Ambitious growth at Orea Capital requires equally strong governance. I want to help monitor the company's growth plan, challenge performance constructively and ensure timely adjustments whenever needed.
Throughout my career as a CFO and board member, I've learned that sustainable growth depends on solid financial structures, transparent reporting and disciplined decision-making. When acquisitions are part of the strategy, it's especially important to question the numbers, identify risks early and always keep the long-term vision ahead of short-term results.
4. Finally, on a more personal note: you have a special connection with Italy. What draws you there?
To me, Italy combines history, entrepreneurship, nature, creativity and spirituality in a unique way. Add exceptional cuisine and outstanding wines, and every day offers a different experience.
